What am I paying for if the product is free?

Nothing, if you do it yourself. ShopBite is an open-source project: the complete code is on GitHub under the MIT license, documentation included. If you can deploy and run ShopBite yourself, it is 100% free. Our packages are integration prices only: you pay us for setup, adapting it to your business, training and support, not for the software.

What ongoing costs will I have?

ShopBite can be installed in different setups. The usual option is to rent a small server that costs around €20 per month and run the shop there. If you also offer online payments, you’ll additionally incur the fees of those providers. Example: PayPal 2.99% + €0.39 per order.

What if ShopBite doesn't fit my business?

Then you get your money back. All integration packages come with a 30-day money-back guarantee starting at go-live. Let us know within that period and we refund the full amount. Since ShopBite is open source, there are no further costs afterwards if you decide not to keep using the system.

What is the pilot programme about?

So far we have one production customer, our family's pizzeria. That is why the next three restaurants get the Basic package at half price. In return we ask for an honest quote with your name after three months, a case study with real numbers and permission to name your shop as a reference. Service, support and guarantee are identical to the regular package.

Is ShopBite an alternative to Lieferando?

As an ordering system yes, as a platform no, and we say that openly. ShopBite is your own ordering shop on your own domain: no commission per order, your branding, your customer data. I'm Lirim, a software engineer from Frankfurt. I've been building online shops for about ten years, first as a developer, then as head of web development, and since 2024 as a freelancer. My background is business informatics, preceded by an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. So I understand not just the code, but the numbers behind it.

ShopBite grew out of my family. Pizzeria La Fattoria in Obertshausen had taken orders by phone only since 1997, and every order through Lieferando cost up to 30% in commission. So I built an ordering system from open-source components that has been running there every day since. ShopBite is what came out of that experience.
